VCG.AI is looking for a German-speaking Business Developer to join our office in Stuttgart! We are looking for an experienced business developer that will boost our sales, grow our network and improve the brand recognition in the market. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and implement action plans and strategies that will acquire new customers and create strategic partnerships.

As our lead business developer, you will play a vital role in driving our company forward, working directly with our CEO, sales and marketing team, having the opportunity to commercialize a solutions that has real-world impact and helps companies implement sustainable business models with a profit. Key responsibilities:

  • Tracking, identifying and adding qualified prospects to sales pipeline
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with existing and potential clients
  • Sales presentations to prospective clients
  • Managing the end-to-end sales process
  • Coordinating with company executives, sales and marketing teams, reviewing current market trends and go-to-market strategies & tactics
  • Conducting ongoing market research to optimise our go-to-market / sales strategies and tactics

Required skills and qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience in business development and sales, preferably in sustainability services and digital products in the B2B and B2Government market
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written and social media – LinkedIn)
  • Creative and analytical thinking in the development of new business opportunities
  • Goal-oriented and independent worker
  • Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients
  • Experience working in international environment
  • Fluent in written and spoken German + English (German native is a plus)
  • Motivation for driving the impactful sustainable industry solutions

We are looking for a new team member, a lead developer, who will join us on this journey and help build an awesome product ready for global scaleup.

We are a sustainability-focused company developing impactful industry solutions. Value Chain Generator (VCG) utilises cutting-edge data and AI technology to help companies turn their by-products and waste into valuable resources, reducing their CO2 emissions and boosting their profits.

At VCG.AI, we’re proud to be a diverse and international team. With offices in Stuttgart and Ljubljana, we offer flexible working arrangements, hybrid work, and flexible working hours. You will work directly with the CTO, data science team, and existing developers.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive Product Delivery: Lead end-to-end development of new features, from concept to deployment, and work closely with market teams to refine product backlogs and prioritise impactful features.
  • Manage Development Resources: Lead in-house and outsourced development teams, ensuring high-quality code and efficient execution.
  • Maintain Documentation Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including functional specifications and code documentation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in developing complex data-driven solutions in a startup environment.
  • Essential Skills: 5 years of experience with Python backend frameworks, MySQL and graph databases, Vue.js (frontend) and Git for version control.
  • Strong Fundamentals: Deep understanding of web development principles, RESTful APIs, database design, and CI/CD pipelines (YAML).
  • DevOps Mindset: Familiarity with Linux system administration, containerisation (Docker), and Kubernetes cluster management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in leading product development and coordinating the work with a team of developers and data scientists.

Bonus

  • Experience in the development of AI/ML and big data processing solutions.
  • Experience with other frontend frameworks (React, Angular), additional backend languages (Node.js), or other cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
  • Experience in domain-specific areas relevant to VCG (circular economy, process modelling and simulations, bioinformatics).
